10 Things I Learned From All Time Low

This blog post is inspired by an article on Thought Catalog about things learned from Blink 182 lyrics.

All Time Low was a very important band to me for many years of my life. They have taught me endless lessons with their lyrics about having fun, love, and living life.

The Beach

“Well they can take, take, take the kids from the summer
But they’ll never, never, never take the summer from me”

The memories you create can last a lifetime. No one can take them away from you.
Also, the feeling you get in the summertime is wonderful. The days blur together and every day feels limitless.

That mindset, that feeling can stay with you even if its 23 degrees out.

Remembering Sunday

“Even though she doesn’t believe in love,
He’s determined to call her bluff
Who could deny these butterflies?
They’re filling his gut”

Love is real, just like happiness or sadness or anger. No one disbelieves in happiness.
Also, you can get butterflies at any age. They aren’t just for school girl crushes.

Stay Awake

“I said, “Before you ask which way to go, remember where you’ve been.”
Stay awake, get a grip and get out
You’re safe from the weight of the world
Just take a second to set things straight
I’ll be fine even though I’m not always right
I can count on the sun to shine”

Read it again: before you ask which way to go, remember where you’ve been. Keep in mind what you have experienced before.
Believe in yourself. Follow your gut. You know what to do.
Also, just breathe. Relax. If things aren’t going your way, keep your head up. The sun is still shining, there’s always hope.

Let It Roll

“I know I’ll never die alone because of all of you…”

You may be lonely but you aren’t alone. Think of all the people that love and support you.

Jasey Rae

“Don’t make this easy,
I want you to mean it,”

Don’t fake it. Don’t lie about love, you’ll break someone’s (your own) heart.

Weightless

“Maybe it’s not my weekend
But it’s gonna be my year”

Again, keep your head up. Things may seem bad now, but there’s always a brighter tomorrow.

Lost In Stereo

“She works for the weekend, mixtape of her favorite bands
Tearin’ up the radio lost in the stereo sound”

Other people love music just as much as me. I feel like this song was written FOR me.
There’s few things I like more than playing my mixed cd’s and driving with my windows down.

Too Much

“Too much of anything is too much,
Too much love can be too much,
We had too much time, too much us,
So we fought like tomorrow was promised”

There is a such thing as too much love. Give each other space and trust that every day will work out. Take your relationships one day at a time.

A Party Song

“Don’t sweat it, it’s over now, our time ran out.”

Relationships can be long or they can be fleeting. Enjoy them while you can. Sometimes things aren’t meant to be.

I Feel Like Dancin’

“I feel like dancing tonight,
I’m gonna party like it’s my civil right,
(everybody get kinda awesome).
It doesn’t matter where, I don’t care if people stare, (Woah!)
’cause I feel like dancing tonight.”

Be yourself and have fun. Dance in the car. Sing out loud. Enjoy life and living.

Best,
Nicole
